Should I do virtual or in-person therapy?

You may already have a feeling that you will prefer one method of therapy over the other, but if you aren’t sure that’s okay too! Because I offer first come first serve appointments that adapt to your needs, you have the freedom to try both. I have some clients who rotate between virtual and face-to-face appointments depending upon their schedules. Being able to switch between both methods of counseling also offers a wider variety of options for certain types of exposure therapy as well.

Is online counseling as effective as in-person?

Believe it or not, video therapy has actually been around for more than 20 years! It has boomed in popularity since the pandemic started, and provides greater access to services for people who may not be able to travel to an office or attend in-person therapy for other reasons. Research studies have also demonstrated that online therapy (especially Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which I use with clients), seems to be as effective as face-to-face therapy.1
